Summary: This document presents the background and the activity leading to and the materials used in two workshops organized by EUD-Net. The 1st EUD-Net Workshop took place at CNR/ISTI in Pisa, Italy, during September 23 and 24, 2002. The 2nd EUD-Net Workshop took place at Philips High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, during January 16 and 17, 2003.
