MEFISTO Deliverable 2

Scenarios for design and evaluation
The second deliverable addresses the problem of scenarios. It thus contains a discussion of how they can be used for evaluation and requirements gathering taking into account safety-critical issues. Then we propose a structure to represent scenarios and criteria for their selection in order to highlight safety and usability issues.
Finally a set of samples of scenarios for each of the three selected case studies is proposed to exemplify the possible results.
The document will discuss
- What scenarios are, and how scenarios can be collected and documented.
- What scenarios are be useful for.
- Some examples of scenarios from the Mefisto case studies
But won't aim to show the actual use of the scenarios for design or evaluation.
It should be noted that this deliverable reports on work in progress: the activity of defining, analysing, and refining scenario descriptions will continue on into the second year of the Mefisto project. Task 1.3 (see the Mefisto Project Annex I, Section 3), the first results of which this document describes, is set to continue into the second year of the project. In particular, the scenario descriptions will be elaborated and supported with more detailed task analyses.
