Vodafone Omnitel NV is part of the Vodafone Group, a world leader in the mobile telecommunications sector.

The group involved in this project is the Service Innovation & User Experience Group (Technology Department) who evaluates and tests technologies (Telco and IT) from multiple vendors in order to advance mobile communication and/or improve service quality. The group designs, prototypes and evaluates innovative advanced services and user experience for mobile communication environment; supports Vodafone Italy’s role of “Centre of Excellence” within Vodafone Group; is a showcase laboratory to promote and demonstrate technical innovation to relevant stakeholders; contributes to RnD programs with trials, scouting and analysis on innovative services and applications.

Technical Expertise Areas are: IMS/Core network, Radio, Wireless Short Range Communications, Smart Card.

 

Vodafone Omnitel within this project will exploit its huge experience in Telco research area. This experience ranges from infrastructure and technological expertise, with proven capability to deploy and manage big infrastructures, up to long experience to manage complex research projects in large and multinational organization.

Vodafone Omnitel will leverage on its knowledge of final customers needs and attitudes, on its vision of market trends in order to properly address the service scenarios definition and the use cases selection according to concrete business opportunities.

Stefano Marzorati received his University degree in Computer Science from Milan University (Italy) in 1992. After some years spent in Agusta Sistemi R&D team (Aerospatiale) he moved to Telco world where he acquired a huge experiences ranging from Customer Care & Billing System and to Value Added Services. Currently he is Program Manager inside Service Innovation & User Experience group with reference to User Experience area (e.g. ASR and TTS, multimodality, content adaptation, entertainment) and business area, with the mission to explore and evaluate new services and user experience in collaboration with the internal Vodafone Omnitel organization and with reference to the Vodafone Global structure.
